A new quarter has begun. Two-story buildings are being demolished on Koltsova Street
In Minsk, they have thoroughly tackled objects that at various times were designated for demolition: buildings, structures, the private sector, and so on.

Recently, work began in the area of Koltsova Street. Here, instead of several two-story buildings, an entire quarter of multi-apartment buildings is planned to be constructed. And this plan has already begun to be implemented, writes Onliner.by.

A large area of low-rise development is located within the streets of Koltsova, Shyrokaya, Ushodnyaya, and Lahojski Trakt. These are predominantly two-story buildings, constructed in the late 1950s — early 1960s. Many of them are residential, while some are used as offices and commercial premises.
Last year, a public discussion of the urban development project took place, according to which it was proposed to demolish 25 buildings in this area that had exhausted their resource. Not much time has passed, and what was planned is already being implemented.

What will this entire territory be like in the future?
It will be developed in stages. Several dozens of two-story houses must give way to "residential multi-apartment development with integrated and attached public facilities." It was mentioned that the houses will have a "high level of architectural and planning solutions."

In total, near Lahojski Trakt, 991 new apartments will appear, with a total area of almost 70 thousand square meters. The estimated project implementation period is until 2030.

According to the object's passport, one new building is planned for the first cleared site. The developer is specified as UKB Savetski District. They plan to complete construction promptly — in July 2027.
For whom exactly the housing will be intended — those registered as needing improved housing conditions, or all interested parties — for now, one can only guess.
