Ninth-grader and college student received eight years each for drug distribution
The trial was held behind closed doors in the Yelʹsk district.
The defendants, born in 2009 and 2010, were charged under Part 4 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code.
A ninth-grader from Mozyr and a student from a college in Gomel found a job offer online. The teenagers underwent training and started working as drug couriers, but worked for less than three weeks. During their arrest, more than 250 g of the particularly dangerous psychotropic substance 4-CMC was found and seized from them and in stashes.
By court verdict, both teenagers were found guilty of illegal acquisition, storage, and transportation of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances in a large amount, with intent to sell, committed by an organized group.
The court's decision — eight years of imprisonment each, to be served in an educational penal colony without a fine.
