Chief Russian propagandist Dmitry Kiselyov removed from "Vesti Nedeli" broadcast
Officially, this is presented as "the launch of a new author's project".

Dmitry Kiselyov is stepping down as the host of the main weekly news program "Vesti Nedeli" on the "Russia 1" TV channel, which he had hosted since 2012 and which was considered the Kremlin's primary flagship platform on Sundays. Instead, he has been given an author's project called "Kiselyov", which will air late on Sunday evenings, at 22:00.
The new face and host of "Vesti Nedeli" will be another propagandist — Yevgeny Popov.
"Vesti Nedeli" is VGTRK's main propaganda tool with the highest ratings. Handing over the broadcast to Popov is effectively Kiselyov's removal from Russia's main propaganda megaphone.
The new program "Kiselyov" is exclusively focused on personal commentary, and the program itself has been pushed out of primetime.
The first episode is scheduled for September 6.
Last week, the "VChK-OGPU" channel reported on Kiselyov's dismissal from the program and his replacement by Popov. It also stated that Kiselyov would lose his position as general director of "Rossiya Segodnya". This information has not yet been confirmed.
