Tragedy in Borisov Hospital: patient's granddaughter says he received attention after six hours, when foam was already coming from his mouth — he died
A tragedy occurred in the emergency department of Borisov Central District Hospital No. 2 due to a lack of timely medical assistance, according to the deceased patient's granddaughter.
The girl reported on social media that her grandfather, Vladimir Tkachev, was admitted to the emergency room around 9 AM. Around 11-12 o'clock, a doctor examined him and put him on a drip. The doctor did not approach him again, despite complaints of arm numbness and shortness of breath. They waited for help for another six hours.
"We waited for 6 hours. At 18:40, foam started coming from his mouth. Only then did resuscitation take him away. 6 hours without help! This is negligence that costs a life. Why does an elderly person with symptoms of stroke/heart attack lie without a doctor for 6 hours?!" the girl fumed.
Later she wrote: "Grandfather died".
The girl appealed to the Ministry of Health demanding an investigation.
Iryna Lobakh, First Deputy Head of the Main Department of Healthcare of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, confirmed the incident to "Minsk News" and announced the start of an inquiry:
"We are aware of the situation. A decision has been made to create a commission of the main department to ascertain all circumstances of the incident. An official investigation is being conducted into this fact. The situation is under control," she said.
