On this day, many people order taxis simultaneously to get to school assemblies. At the same time, some drivers also take their children to school and may not be on the line. Therefore, when the number of people wanting to travel exceeds the number of available cars, the service automatically activates a surge pricing coefficient.
According to "Yandex Go", on September 1, demand starts to grow significantly from approximately 7:35 AM. Most orders usually fall between 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, and 9:50 AM, so trips may cost more at these times. After 9:55 AM, demand usually decreases, and ordering a taxi may be more cost-effective.
The app has a special price index that shows the situation with the number of available cars. Green means there are enough cars and the usual price applies. Orange or red indicate a shortage of cars and a higher price.
To save money, the service may offer the passenger to wait a little or walk a few minutes to the pick-up location. Such options help reduce the cost of the trip and simultaneously allow drivers to take subsequent orders faster.
