Three new hotels, an ancient brewery, and a pedestrian loop. What's new in Grodno
In Grodno, several new facilities will appear in the next couple of years: from a renovated ancient brewery to a large promenade along the Neman river. As reported by the Grodno City Executive Committee, the urban environment is being systematically developed in the regional center, and new public spaces are being created, writes Domovita.by.
By the end of the year, three hotels will be added to the city's map, and a modernized aquacenter "Lazurny" will open in November. Simultaneously, the right and left banks of the Neman are planned to be connected by a new pedestrian bridge, completing a single walking route.
Hotels and a second life for an ancient brewery
Free rooms in Grodno during the warm season are worth their weight in gold, so the hotel stock is growing quite rapidly with new locations. Over the past three years, 7 hotels have appeared in the regional center on Vilenskaya, Ozheshko, Podolnaya, and Kalinouskaha streets, and the total number of hotels and hostels has reached 27. By the end of this year, three more facilities are planned to open on Festivalnaya, Mendeleeva, and Suvorova streets.
The most atmospheric project is being implemented right on the bank of the Neman, where the former brewery continues to be restored. The historical complex waited a long time for its turn, and it is expected to open to visitors by the summer of 2027. Already in September, the investor intends to begin construction of a hotel that will unite the ancient territory into a single architectural ensemble by the city's 900th anniversary.
Promenade near Kolozha, bridge and pedestrian loop
The Neman riverbank is also awaiting renovation. On the right bank, in the section from Kolozha Church to the mouth of the Haradnichanka, a large recreational area is being formed with pedestrian paths and cycling routes. The main idea is to create an uninterrupted promenade along the water, where one can stroll peacefully without the noise of transport and without being tied to roads.
In the future, this promenade will become part of a large pedestrian loop. According to the architects' concept, the right and left banks will be connected by a new pedestrian bridge. The route will pass through the renovated square on Darvina street and lead directly to the "Lazurny" aquacenter. The aquatic complex itself has been undergoing renovation since December 2024 and is expected to open its doors to visitors in early November.
Sports Palace with a 50-meter swimming pool
Concurrently, the project for a multifunctional Palace of Team Sports is progressing in the city. The scale of the facility is impressive: the main sports hall is designed for 2000 spectators, and the training ground will accommodate another 500 people.
The main highlight of the complex will be a large aquatic area with a full-fledged 50-meter Olympic standard swimming pool, where it will be possible to host high-ranking tournaments.
