Pensioner asked an acquaintance to chop wood for her. It all ended in murder
The Krychaw District Department of the Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case regarding the murder with particular cruelty of an elderly woman in the village of Ivanawka.

According to the investigation, on the morning of September 23, a 59-year-old resident of Krychaw called the police and reported that he had killed an elderly acquaintance whom he helped with household chores.

Investigators determined that the day before, the man had come from Krychaw to the village to earn some money at a farm. However, the farmer was not there. Instead, in one of the yards, the man met an elderly woman. She offered him to chop wood and then invited him to drink together.

Ultimately, it all ended in the pensioner's death. She died from asphyxiation and numerous blows to various parts of her body.

A criminal case was initiated against the man under sub-paragraphs 2, 6 and 16 of Part 2 of Article 139 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — for the murder of a known elderly person, committed with particular cruelty by a person who had previously committed murder.
The man had previously been repeatedly convicted, including for murder.
