Ryzhankov announced Cole's possible visit to Minsk by the end of the year
Belarus is discussing the issue of potash fertilizer supplies with US President's representative John Cole. This was stated by Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankov, Sputnik reports .

Maksim Ryzhankov stated that US special envoy John Cole, on Trump's instructions, is building relations between Washington and Minsk. According to him, as trust between the parties grows, more topics for cooperation emerge. The minister emphasized that the discussion of potash fertilizer supplies should not come at "the cost of relations with Russia".
According to Ryzhankov, potash fertilizers are just one of the topics of negotiations with the American side. He emphasized that Cole has many more issues within the framework of developing relations between Minsk and Washington than the issue of releasing political prisoners.
Ryzhankov also did not rule out that John Cole would visit Belarus again by the end of the year. He noted that relations between the two countries are developing dynamically, so various scenarios are possible.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump reported that Washington was working on a major deal to purchase potash fertilizers from Belarus.
Cole's last visit to Minsk took place on September 15. Its result was the release of 25 Belarusian political prisoners, although before the trip it was expected that the scale would be much larger.
