Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka has joined the Grand Slam Players' Council. This body was created in August by athletes and organizers of the four largest tennis tournaments — Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and US Open.

The first composition of the Council includes 12 tennis players — six women and six men. Along with Sabalenka, its members will be Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan, Jessica Pegula and Iva Jović from the USA, Elina Svitolina from Ukraine, Maria Sakkari from Greece, as well as Novak Djokovic from Serbia, Alexander Zverev from Germany, Ben Shelton from the USA, Félix Auger-Aliassime from Canada, Lorenzo Musetti from Italy, and Arthur Rinderknech from France.
The creation of the Players' Council was one of three main demands of tennis players to the organizers of Grand Slam tournaments. In addition, players advocated for increased prize money and improved social guarantees for participants in the competitions.
