The Ministry of Antimonopoly Policy and Trade found that the Grodno University Clinic used a profitability level of as much as 960% when calculating the tariff for an unregulated medical service.

The clinic introduced a paid service for injecting medicinal preparations into the vitreous body of the eye on weekends and holidays. This was explained by the desire to increase the accessibility of medical care.
A patient who needs such a procedure, in addition to an expensive drug costing from 400 to 500 rubles, must pay another 280 rubles for its administration. Relevant diseases — age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and central retinal vein occlusion — are more often found in people aged 50 to 70.
To form more justified tariffs, the Ministry of Trade sent information to the Ministry of Health. The department was asked to analyze how prices for such a service are formed in other healthcare institutions and, if necessary, take appropriate measures.
In addition, the ministry monitored the tabletka.by website to check price changes for 123 medicinal preparations. For approximately 100 items, prices did not change compared to the previous month. For some preparations, the price decreased by 0.1-6.7%.
