Pro-Kremlin activist in Latvia sentenced to six years for donating 43 euros to Russian soldiers. A Belarusian woman helped her do it
Because it's impossible to transfer money from Latvia.

On Wednesday, the Riga City Court sentenced pro-Kremlin activist Polina Kamlova from Rezekne (Latgale) to six years in prison, writes Postimees.
Kamlova was accused of transferring approximately 43 euros for the purchase of drone jamming equipment with the aim of transferring it to Russian soldiers.
The court included the time spent in custody and detention in the sentence. Taking this into account, the remaining part of the sentence is five years, one month, and 25 days of imprisonment.
In December 2024, in a WhatsApp correspondence with an acquaintance from Russia, who is a contact person for the Russian military-patriotic special training center "Kaskad," the accused responded to a call to raise funds for the purchase of military equipment that the Russian army would use in the war against Ukraine.
Understanding that it was impossible to transfer money to a Russian bank from Latvian banks, the woman contacted an acquaintance in Belarus via WhatsApp and asked her to make the money transfer instead, without disclosing the true purpose of the payment.
Her acquaintance in Belarus made a payment of 157 Belarusian rubles (about 43 euros) from her personal bank account in a Belarusian credit institution.
State Security Service of Latvia detained Kamlova on December 2, 2025.
