Specialists confirmed that the animal had recovered from severe stress, had no injuries, and was ready for an independent life in the wild. Following this, the moose calf was released. According to the inspectorate's report, it confidently ran deep into the forest.
The incident occurred this week in the hunting grounds of the Rechytsa forestry. Employees of the Gomel Regional Inspectorate received a report about illegal hunting. On site, it was discovered that poachers in a car were chasing a young moose calf across a field, setting hunting dogs on it.
Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the offenders, and some materials have been handed over to the Rechytsa District Department of Internal Affairs.
