Tsikhanouskaya discussed support for Belarusian students and the future of the university with EHU Rector
The meeting took place in Warsaw.

In Warsaw, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met for the first time with Vilius Šadrauskas, Rector of the European Humanities University. Mantas Adomėnas, Chairman of the university's Governing Council, also took part in the meeting, according to EHU's press service.
The Belarusian leader emphasized that EHU is a great asset and value for Belarusian society, and it must be preserved as a Belarusian university within the European educational space, maintaining its Belarusian mission and focus.
The development of Belarusian programs within the university, the teaching of the Belarusian language, greater involvement of Belarusians in decision-making processes, and the holding of consultations on the university's future with representatives of the Belarusian civil and academic community in the near future were discussed. Earlier, Tsikhanouskaya sent a letter to the university's leadership with proposals from the Belarusian community for its development.

According to Tsikhanouskaya, it is now important to support Belarusian students, graduates, and lecturers of EHU who have already faced repression, and many, after the university was recognized as an "extremist organization," cannot return home. Together with the Rector, they discussed issues of student and applicant safety, as well as problems of legalization for students and staff in Lithuania.
«My team includes both EHU graduates and lecturers. I know how much this university has given to Belarusians, and I want future generations of students to have such an opportunity. So that talented students can study regardless of family income, and Belarusian lecturers can continue their work. And, of course, it is important for us that the university maintains its Belarusian mission and focus. We will continue consultations with the university leadership, and I hope we will communicate and cooperate more,» said Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
