At a conference in Dublin Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya recalled the fate of political prisoner Vatslav Areshka PHOTO FACT
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is participating in the conference "Ireland — Belarus: National Cultural Identities" in Dublin on October 27. As always, participation in a public event is used to remind the world about Belarusian political prisoners.

Today, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's folder features a portrait of Vatslav Areshka — a political prisoner with a tragic fate.
The 71-year-old political scientist, culturologist, and activist of the independent REP trade union was arrested on April 19, 2022, and sentenced to 8 years in prison. Today, he is held in penal colony No. 22 "Vouchyy Nory" (Wolf's Dens) near Ivatsevichy.
In captivity, Vatslav Areshka has practically lost his sight. He cannot read or write independently, and he moves around his cell and squad by touch, often falling and getting injured as a result. Despite his critical condition, he does not receive proper medical care, and his application for disability status is denied.
Do you remember Piatrusha, who ripped out the wires for the "Changes DJs"? He was demoted to the third league of officials after months of unemployment
