Poachers Shot a Moose Near Kobryn. They Were Identified by Bumper Fragments
During field activities near Kobryn, employees of the Inspectorate for the Protection of Flora and Fauna discovered blood traces at the edge of a field. In the forest thicket, they noticed the remains of a killed moose: head, hide, hooves, entrails, and spine.

An inspection of the scene provided a clue: five meters from the remains, a tire tread mark was left, and nearby lay a fragment of a bumper grille, writes Onliner.by.
In a neighboring village, inspectors found a car with a missing bumper part, and the tread pattern matched the tracks at the scene. There they also met two men in camouflage clothing. On the roof of the buildings lay six bags of fresh moose meat, and in the cabin of the second car was a registered hunting rifle. It was with this rifle that the moose was shot.

It has been established that environmental damage amounting to 300 basic units — which is 13,500 rubles — has been caused. A total of 300 kilograms of game meat were confiscated, as well as two registered rifles with ammunition. Additionally, both vehicles were impounded and sent to an impound lot.
The poachers confessed to illegal hunting. A criminal case was initiated against them under Part 4, Article 282 of the Criminal Code (illegal hunting, which caused particularly large-scale damage). They will spend the next few days in a temporary detention center.
