Lukashenka: It's time to return to the practice when Belarus was responsible for Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Moscow Oblast, partly Moscow
Lukashenka proposed that Belarus once again be responsible for supplying goods to Russian regions — it should produce and supply what was lacking in certain cities and regions of Russia. He listed Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Moscow Oblast, and partly Moscow.

Lukashenka voiced his proposal on October 27 during a meeting with St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov, but also addressed it to Russian Ambassador Boris Gryzlov, who was present at the meeting.
“It's time to return to the Soviet practice when Belarus was responsible for Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Moscow Oblast, partly Moscow,” he said.
Regarding the Russian capital, Lukashenka made a reservation: “It is enormous, especially now — I doubt we will cope with such a gigantic volume.”
At the same time, he proposes cooperation primarily with the listed regions. Lukashenka explained what he meant by Belarus’s responsibility as follows:
“Responsibility meant that everything that was not available in Leningrad and the region, especially in Kaliningrad, we were obliged to produce and supply.”
Lukashenka assured that all agreements would be fulfilled.
“You are well aware of our capabilities. Rest assured: everything we have promised, we will do. Both in the field of mechanical engineering, and elevator repair, food supply. Everything Leningrad needs and what we can do, we must do,” he said.
