The CEC Chairperson called western democracy “just well arranged bureaucracy”.
The Chairperson of Belarusian Central Election Commission Lidzija Jarmoshyna stated that in the West they prevent the CIS representatives to criticize ODIHR/OSCE monitoring system.
“When you get there, you come across such coordinated, bureaucratic and such heartless approach, such collective opinion, when you are up against a wall on your own,” she pointed out.
“They agreed to impose a taboo on some things, for example one cannot blame or to criticize the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. That’s the democracy… Don’t, and end of the story! They never mistake,” the CEC Chairperson said.
“So, I think that their democracy is just a very well arranged bureaucracy, along with the games with society and media. It is horrible, and you cannot fight it. With its consolidation, it will destroy anybody who gets on its way,” she emphasized.
Lidzija Jarmoshyna also pointed out that the differences in election monitoring between the West and the East are enormous.
When to Germany, with its 80 million population, there is a mission of 15 people coming, and to Belarus, where 9 million people live, there is a mission of 700 people coming, you realize, the goals for each mission vary,” she added.
