Alexei Khlestov, who became a taxi driver, has become an internet sensation. Belarusians have launched a flash mob to support the singer.
It probably wasn't easy for the singer to admit that he had traded the microphone for a steering wheel. But, receiving a wave of support, Khlestov can barely hold back tears. He says: «You have given me a second life!»

Let us remind you: rumors that Alexei Khlestov had started working in a taxi had been circulating for a long time — and the singer himself hinted at it on his social networks. But only recently he decided to dot the i's.
A few days ago, Khlestov posted a video of himself singing his song «Where Have All My Dreams Gone» while driving a car, and the passengers are singing along with him.
«Friends, it's no secret to anyone that I drive a taxi and these wonderful passengers ride with me,» the artist wrote.
The singer works in Yandex.Taxi in the business class category. The reason for such a radical change in activity is not very original for Belarus. In 2023, it became known that Alexei Khlestov was put on a blacklist of artists — that is, now he cannot even perform at corporate parties.
After Alexei's confession, Belarusians unexpectedly organized a flash mob on social networks. Someone posted photos or videos with the singer, shared stories related to him. Someone recorded videos of themselves singing their favorite songs of the artist.
And many wrote that now, willy-nilly, you will have to take a taxi. There were even suggestions to make Khlestov his own «taxi in which they sing» — because catching a singer through Yandex is not very easy.
The flash mob turned out to be truly worldwide, because Belarusians who now live in various countries — from Spain to Thailand — joined in. One of the women, for example, posted a video of her small child in Argentina, wearing a T-shirt with a Belarusian ornament, listening to Khlestov's song.
Со всем уважением!
Hosts Artemis Akhpash and Ekaterina Raetskaya, singer Anna Shalyutina also took part.
Treads users also actively joined the flash mob — the singer even had to create an account to thank everyone. And one of the most popular jokes was: «There are two objects in Minsk that everyone wants to visit: the Snow Queen in the Gallery and the taxi of Alexei Khlestov.»
The artist recorded a video in which he seems to barely hold back tears of joy and says that people have given him a second life.
