In Belarus, starting from 2026, psychological interviews will be introduced for those who work in the education sector or intend to work as educators. This is stipulated by Resolution No. 706 of the Council of Ministers dated December 5, 2025,publishedon the National Legal Portal.

The document approves a new procedure that defines when and how employers — both organizations and individual entrepreneurs — must conduct psychological interviews with individuals who plan to engage in pedagogical activities, including in the field of sports and physical culture.
The mandatory interview will apply not only to educators but also to everyone whose work involves constant contact with children and the performance of educational functions. The employer has the right to send a person for such a check if negative moral traits are mentioned in references from a previous place of employment or study.
In addition, an interview may be required if negative information about an employee is received from other individuals or state bodies, casting doubt on their professional, business, or moral qualities. The same applies to situations where a social investigation is being conducted regarding their family.
The psychological interview will be conducted in state institutions where a psychologist or educational psychologist position exists in the staffing table. It is planned that the procedure will be partially computerized. Overall methodological guidance is entrusted to the Ministry of Education jointly with the Ministry of Healthcare.
The new rules will come into effect on January 17, 2026.
