Grunwald Publishing, which specializes in publishing Belarusian books translated into English, has released Jan Barshcheuski's cult work "Nobleman Zavalnya, or Belarus in Fantastical Tales".

The English adaptation by Volia Yanouskaya is titled "Nobleman Zavalnya, or Belarus in Fantastical Tales", writes bellit.info.
The first English translation of Jan Barshcheuski's work was released in October 2025. Currently, it's only available in paperback and with black-and-white illustrations. The book is already available for purchase through the publisher's website, on Amazon, and other major online platforms. An electronic version can also be acquired.
In early 2026, a premium hardcover edition with 83 color illustrations by Nasta Li is expected to be released.
Volia Yanouskaya's adaptation was made based on Mikola Khaustovich's classical Belarusian translation, cross-referenced with Jan Barshcheuski's original Polish "Nobleman Zavalnya".
More about how the book was prepared, how the translation process went, and other interesting facts can be seen in the online presentation that took place as part of the intellectual book festival "Pradmova".
