«I kindly ask journalists not to speculate about Andrzej Poczobut; I am personally very upset and hope for his release.
Nobody ever offered Andrzej anything over all these years to write any pardon requests, nor was there any talk about his departure from Belarus.
Initially, Andrzej and I refused to leave, then there were no offers; Andrzej was simply not on the list of the Belarusian opposition because he is a representative of the Polish minority.
I am very happy that people are free, I wish everyone much health and strength», — wrote Andżelika Borys.
Earlier, Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Maciej Wiewiór reported that Andrzej Poczobut was not released because he refused to write a request for release. Such an offer, according to the diplomat, indeed existed, but Poczobut did not accept it. However, this, emphasized the MFA representative, does not mean an end to efforts for his release.
