This is infectious disease doctor Uladzislau Abushenka, who was on home confinement ("home chemistry") and therefore was not included in the human rights activists' list of "1300 political prisoners."
"Nasha Niva" has learned the name of one of the 20 "extremists" whom Alyaksandr Lukashenka pardoned on December 30, 2025.
This is Uladzislau Abushenka. The guy is 30 years old and works as an infectious disease specialist at the 25th polyclinic in Minsk.

Uladzislau Abushenka
In February 2024, law enforcement officers published a video with the detained Uladzislau. He was arrested around that time — for participating in the 2020 protests. Most likely, Abushenka spent two months in a pre-trial detention center before the trial. In April 2024, the guy was released home, sentenced to home confinement ("home chemistry"). The exact term is unknown — it could have been a typical 2-3 years. In May 2024, the sentence came into force.
If Abushenka began serving his sentence around June 2024, then by the date of pardon, he had already spent almost two years on home confinement — more than a year and a half at home plus months in the pre-trial detention center, counted with a double coefficient.
If Abushenka was given two years of home confinement, he had only a few days left to live with restrictions. If he received three years, there was still a year left.
It is noteworthy that Uladzislau had the status of "former political prisoner" — for the months he spent in the pre-trial detention center.
According to the methodology of human rights defenders, those on home confinement are not included in the count of political prisoners. Yes, they are also victims of political persecution, but their immediate release from custody is not required, as people are already at home.
However, those in pre-trial detention centers, penal colonies, and prisons remain at a minimum of 1131 people. It is possible that none of them were included in the pardon wave on December 30.
