Acting President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez held the first cabinet meeting since the overthrow of Nicolás Maduro.
According to agency reports, the VTV (Venezolana de Televisión) television channel showed Vice-President Rodríguez at a table in the presidential palace alongside two other key Maduro supporters — Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López and Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello.
Rodríguez was appointed Acting President by the Venezuelan Supreme Court. Previously, she had demanded the release of Maduro, who was captured by the US, writes the BBC.
Reports emerged over the weekend that Rodríguez was in Russia (the Russian Foreign Ministry denied this).

“If she doesn’t do the right thing, she will have to pay a very high price, probably higher than Maduro,” the American leader stated.
US President Donald Trump also stated that many Cuban security personnel were killed during the US operation to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
“You know, many Cubans were killed yesterday,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.
