At the start of the game, an Inter fan threw a flare onto the field. The home goalkeeper Emil Audero fell to the ground, stunned by the explosion. Audero required medical attention, but the footballer was able to continue the game, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.
However, that fan lost several fingers after a second flare prematurely exploded in his hand. He also faces immediate arrest upon discharge from the hospital.
Inter players refused to greet their fans' stand after the match in protest against the violence.
Inter, by the way, won 2-0.
