In Vitsebsk, a car dealership displayed a Formula 1 bolide. Is it real?

In Vitsebsk, a car dealership specializing in the sale of used cars displayed a car it called a Ferrari Formula 1 bolide. According to the stated information, it is allegedly a Ferrari F1 with a 2.5-liter V6 engine, although the year of manufacture is not specified. For now, the car is only being demonstrated and is not for sale, and dealership representatives promise news "later," noted Blizko.by.

However, experts and car enthusiasts quickly noticed inconsistencies. In Formula 1, during the period to which this bolide could visually be attributed, such engines were not used.

The year of manufacture was not specified at the dealership, but it can be roughly determined by indirect data. For example, the car lacks the "halo" safety system (protective bars over the driver's head), which was introduced in 2018, and Bridgestone tires ceased to be used after 2009. In addition, the number 1 is applied to the Ferrari — under it, German driver Michael Schumacher competed in 2001-2005. But at that time, Ferrari bolides had 3-liter V10 or V12 configuration engines, not V6.

Given that authentic Ferrari bolides of that era sell at auctions for tens of millions of dollars (for example, Schumacher's 2003 car was sold for almost 15 million dollars in 2022), the likelihood that such an example ended up in an ordinary Vitsebsk car dealership seems minimal. Therefore, it is most likely that visitors are seeing a replica, that is, an amateur copy.

Some commentators also ironically noted that the car is single-seater and not suitable for daily needs. Others suspect that the image of the bolide was created using artificial intelligence. According to them, this is evidenced by errors in the reflections of the Marlboro logo in the glass, inaccuracies in the inscriptions on the rear wing, as well as strange markings on the Bridgestone Potenza tires and BBS rims, which show obvious flaws.
