According to preliminary information, the hostages are not bank clients, and among them may be a driver of an armored cash-in-transit vehicle. The number of attackers and hostages has not yet been disclosed.
There is no information about fatalities or injuries. It is also unknown whether the criminals were armed.
"At this moment, we assume that there are several criminals and hostages in the bank. One of the hostages is the driver of a cash-in-transit vehicle," a law enforcement representative stated.
Residents in the cordoned-off area are prohibited from leaving their homes. However, the police assert that there is no danger to other areas of the city.
Police are not yet revealing further plans of action so that this information is not used by the attackers. More details are promised to be announced later.
