Peskov and Lavrov stated the necessity to «manfully» adhere to the «understandings» reached in Anchorage
The Russian leadership increasingly refers to some closed agreements with the USA on the Ukrainian issue, reached during the meeting in Anchorage, and insists on them. But, it seems, fruitlessly.

A breakthrough on Ukraine is only possible if the understandings reached in Anchorage are preserved, stated Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
He emphasized that the Kremlin does not want to publicly elaborate on the details of the agreements reached, and that discussions should be held in a closed format.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed himself similarly on this topic. He emphasized that Moscow accepted Washington's concrete proposal. According to him, «if one approaches it manfully», then the issue should be resolved, since the Russian side agreed to the US terms.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the Kremlin is not interested in the opinion of Ukraine or the European Union with their «cave Russophobia». The position of the United States remains exclusively key for Putin.
Lavrov says that after Anchorage, Russia was ready for large-scale cooperation with the USA, but in practice, it only sees new sanctions.
«For now, in practice, everything looks the opposite: new sanctions are being introduced, a «war» is underway against tankers in the open sea in violation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. India and our other partners are being prevented from buying cheap, affordable Russian energy resources — Europe has long since been forbidden – and are being forced to buy American liquefied natural gas at three times the price. This means that in the economic sphere, the Americans have declared the goal of economic dominance», — said Lavrov.
