Zelenskyy explained why Belarus is excluded as a venue for negotiations with Putin
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he will not hold peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the territory of Russia or Belarus. At the same time, the Ukrainian side is ready for dialogue on neutral platforms, writes TSN.

During communication with journalists in the President's Office chat, Zelenskyy emphasized that a meeting cannot take place in an aggressor country.
«I cannot come to negotiations with Putin in Moscow — the capital of the state that is the aggressor in this war,» he noted.
The Ukrainian president also explained why the candidacy of Belarus is not being considered by Ukraine.
According to him, this country is an ally of Russia and facilitated the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Therefore, Minsk also cannot be a venue for such negotiations.
At the same time, Ukraine is ready to discuss other options — in the USA, in European or other neutral countries.
«We are ready to support the US proposals to meet in any territories — America, Europe, neutral countries. Any states, except Russia and Belarus. Belarus — because it is an ally in the attack on Ukraine in 2022,» Zelenskyy summarized.
Earlier, reports appeared in the media that the Ukrainian delegation might supposedly go to Moscow for negotiations. However, Ukrainian politicians stated that such a step has neither diplomatic nor political meaning.
Also, earlier the Kremlin stated its readiness for contacts, but on its own terms. Zelenskyy has repeatedly stressed that Russia is not yet demonstrating genuine readiness to stop the aggression.
