Belarus' Unified Register of Empty Homes Contains Around 49 Thousand Buildings
As of February 11, the Unified Register of Empty Homes, created by the State Property Committee in 2023, contains approximately 49 thousand objects. This was reported by Nikolai Babior, deputy chairman of the agency, during a press conference.

According to the official, local authorities first search for possible owners or right-holders of such homes. If owners are not found, the buildings become communal property or are put up for sale. Some of them can even be purchased for one basic unit (in 2026, this is 45 Belarusian rubles).
In 2025, as noted by Nikolai Babior, about 7 thousand empty homes were brought into economic circulation. Of these, 2 thousand were sold, including some for one basic unit (42 Belarusian rubles at that time).
Another 5 thousand buildings were demolished because they were beyond repair and were not of interest for sale or use.
