A Moscow Woman Handed Over Black Caviar for Vitebsk, but It Never Reached the City
A Moscow woman decided to send a parcel to her son and his family in Vitebsk by train. At the Belarusian railway station, she was looking for a passenger who would agree to deliver the bag to that city.

A 39-year-old resident of Gomel, previously convicted 12 times for theft, responded to the call for help, reports belkagomel.by
The woman handed him a package worth about 10 thousand Belarusian rubles — which was her two-month income. For the service, she thanked the man with money and vodka.
However, the train the man boarded did not stop in Vitebsk at all. After arriving in Gomel, he went to visit an acquaintance, where they ate some of the delicacies from the stranger's bag: cod liver, red and black caviar, and red fish.
When the package never arrived in Vitebsk, the daughter-in-law contacted the police. The suspect's identity was established through his travel documents. Jewellery for the daughter-in-law, books, and clothing for all family members were successfully returned, but the food items were not.
The man will be tried for the 13th time — for repeated theft. He is currently in a medical-labor dispensary (LPP) due to alcohol abuse.
