During cyclone "Uli", the Belarusian Railway continued to perform its function of passenger transportation, and the employees of the locomotive depot carried out scheduled preventive maintenance, Raman Labazhevich said.
"Due to the high intensity of use of DP6 series diesel trains in difficult weather conditions, there was a need to carry out technical work to further operate these diesel trains for safe and comfortable passenger transportation. This necessitated the temporary replacement of DP6 series diesel trains on the Minsk — Vitebsk — Minsk route with train sets formed from locomotive-hauled carriages," explained Raman Labazhevich. "After the work is completed, the diesel trains will be returned to the route, and this will be done in the near future.
Already on February 16, DP6 series diesel trains will operate on the Minsk — Vitebsk — Minsk route with trains No. 704 Minsk — Vitebsk, No. 712/711 Minsk — Vitebsk — Minsk, and No. 713/714 Vitebsk — Minsk — Vitebsk. And from February 17 — with trains No. 704/703, No. 712/711, and No. 714/713 Minsk — Vitebsk — Minsk."
The Head of the Minsk Locomotive Depot explained that the transportation process for the three aforementioned pairs of trains is physically provided by two train sets.
According to him, the replacement caused minor deviations from the train schedule — up to 10 minutes.
Tickets issued before February 10 for the mentioned trains, formed from locomotive-hauled carriages, will be valid for travel on trains served by DP6 series multiple-unit rolling stock.
