This morning, Poland's Internal Security Agency (ABW) and National Public Prosecutor's Office reported the detention of Belarusian citizen Pavel T. on February 9.
He has been charged with espionage on behalf of Belarusian military intelligence. He has been arrested by the court for three months.
"Employees of the Internal Security Agency detained a 42-year-old Belarusian. It turned out that the Belarusian is a typical modern spy. He spied in Poland, as well as in Lithuania and Germany. This arrest was made possible thanks to the cooperation of Polish special services, namely the Internal Security Agency, as well as Lithuania and Germany, which is extremely important. The exchange of information, experience, and knowledge on this matter led to the arrest of this 42-year-old Belarusian in Poland, in Warsaw. It was revealed that he collected information about important and strategic locations in Poland, Lithuania, and Germany. He processed, recorded, and transmitted it to his handlers in Belarus and Russia. Recently, Russian and Belarusian special services have become very active, and the exchange of information between special services is very important for effectively combating them," Dobrzynski said.
According to him, ABW already has 92 suspects in espionage and sabotage. These are citizens of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Poland.
