At midnight on February 24, an explosive device detonated near a police car in Savyolovsky railway station square in Moscow.

"Today, around 00:05, an unknown person approached traffic police officers of the North-Eastern District Department of Internal Affairs, who were in a service car on a patrol route in Savyolovsky railway station square, after which an unknown device detonated," the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
It is reported that as a result of the explosion, one traffic police officer died at the scene, and another was injured. Later, reports emerged that he also died in the hospital.
According to preliminary reports, an improvised explosive device was triggered. Police are searching for a short-haired man in black clothing. According to data from various sources, he filmed the moment of the explosion on camera, after which he fled.
