In Turkey, a ball hit a seagull during a football match. But the bird was not allowed to die

During an amateur football match in Istanbul, the game had to be stopped due to an unexpected incident: the ball hit a seagull flying over the field. Then, forgetting about the game, the footballers rushed to help the bird, reports the Anadolu Agency.

The incident occurred in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district in the 22nd minute of the match, when the goalkeeper of one of the teams accidentally hit the bird with a ball.

The seagull fell onto the pitch, and at first, the footballers didn't even understand what had happened. The team captain was the first to react — he began to perform indirect heart massage on the bird. The resuscitation lasted about two minutes. And a miracle happened — after some time, the seagull began to show signs of life: it moved its eyes and paws.

They gave the bird water, after which they handed it over to medics. Now veterinarians are helping the seagull: it cannot fly yet, but it is already confidently standing on its feet.

The team whose player hit the seagull ultimately lost the match. However, its captain noted that although the defeat saddened the footballers, saving a living creature was much more important than the result in the league table.
