Tsikhanouskaya: Now Europe is the "bad cop" towards Belarus

The EU must stick to its line and not copy the US example, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is confident.

In the past, "Europe was the good cop, and America was the bad cop," but everything has changed, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya told POLITICO. According to her, Europe is now taking the lead in pressuring Lukashenka, while the US has lifted sanctions.

According to Tsikhanouskaya, the EU must stick to its line and not copy the US example by lifting sanctions against Belarus.

Sanctions are "very important and effective tools to force the regime to change its behavior," she believes.
