Six Cars with Smuggled Cigarettes Detained at Belarusian-Polish Border
At the Bobrowniki border crossing, employees of the Polish Customs and Tax Service stopped an attempt of illegal cigarette import into Poland. During the inspection of six passenger cars, they found contraband — over 25,000 Belarusian cigarettes with a total value exceeding 26,000 zlotys (approx. 7,300 dollars).

It was suspected that the drivers might be transporting illegal goods, so the cars were directed for a thorough inspection. As a result, hidden cigarettes were found in each car. They were hidden in the cars' underbodies, in engine compartments, and even in trunk lids.
Belarusian citizens were behind the wheel. All of them received fines — from 2,300 to 20,000 zlotys (from 645 to 5,612 dollars). The total amount of fines imposed was 50,000 zlotys (approximately 14,000 dollars).
