Propaganda created a clone of "Zerkalo" on TikTok and spewed nonsense about Poland there. TikTok reacted

The channel's name is similar to one of the most popular Belarusian publications — "Zerkalo" (Mirror). At the same time, the design was copied from a Hrodna regional channel that recently angered propagandist Ihar Tur. And the account may be linked to the editor-in-chief of the state-run "Hrodzienskaja Praŭda" (Hrodna Truth).

The first video on this channel was published on February 3 at 17:15 with the title "Poland's failure with military recruitment." On the same day, an hour before the first video, the channel's name was changed to Zerkalonews.

Other videos are made in a similar style, with sensational headlines and disinformation inside: "Poles are freezing," "Poland will be without mail," "Is there no one to work in Poland?".

At the same time, the image of the AI presenter and the design of the headlines with captions are very similar to the channel of a regional media dedicated to Hrodna, with the ironic name "Sovetskaya Belorussiya" (Soviet Belarus) (not to be confused with the popular satirical Telegram channel with the identical name). It was this Hrodna resource that in October 2024 caused the anger of Ihar Tur, about which he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Then "SovBelka" reported on complaints from residents of Ihar Tur's homeland, Pershamaiski village, Lida district, regarding the renovation of a secondary school. According to the media, due to mistakes made during the school's renovation, "people's yards and gardens are flooded, foundations are cracking, and they have to walk through a swamp." They also noted an interesting coincidence: the construction was supervised by Andrei Koŭryha, the former deputy chairman of the Lida District Executive Committee.

The channel's avatar strongly resembles the logo of the Telegram channel of the regional newspaper "Hrodzienskaja Praŭda." Videos from the Zerkalonews channel, which has just over 100 subscribers, are actively commented on by the account tatyanasv03 with a photo of Tatsiana Siarhieyeva — the editor-in-chief of "Hrodzienskaja Praŭda." The last video on her channel is precisely an AI version of her photograph in an evening dress. In addition, she publishes videos from state sources and criticizes opponents of the dictatorship.

The appearance of the channel may mean that state media are starting to experiment with AI services for content production for platforms with vertical videos.

It should be noted that, while we were preparing this publication, TikTok blocked the channel — it was possibly deemed to be in violation of the platform's rules.
