«Belpol» obtained an internal police document on crime statistics in the Vitebsk region in 2025. The figures for unauthorized mass events in a country purged of active manifestations turned out to be unexpected.

«Systematic work has allowed for a reduction in the number of criminal acts committed in public places,» — reports the Vitebsk regional police.
According to its statistics, the number of unauthorized mass events in the region significantly decreased — from 204 to 58.
Despite such a fourfold decrease in the 'unauthorized' events themselves, the police unexpectedly noted an increase in the number of their participants — from 204 to 357 people.
It turned out that Sri Lankans broke the police statistics, as they celebrated New Year without the permission of the Belarusian authorities. About 300 people took part in the celebration.
As follows from the statistics for 2024, 1 person participated in each of the 204 unauthorized «mass» events.
