A petition has been launched on change.org to Google asking to add the Belarusian language to Gboard's voice input. Currently, Belarusians have to use other languages.

The author of the petition notes that Belarusians have the option to respond to messages by text, but Google does not support voice input in Belarusian. This is an artificial barrier that forces us to either remain silent or switch to foreign languages when using the tool, writes Devby.io.
“Why do Ukrainian, Polish, or Kazakh languages have this function, but Belarusian does not? We are millions of active users worldwide, and we do not want to be 'silent' on our own phones,” notes the author.
He added that this creates problems in business and everyday life. For example, it takes up time for representatives of creative professions during manual work when they need to quickly respond to clients. In ordinary life, the absence of voice input in Belarusian is an obstacle while driving and simply on the go when hands are busy.
The author of the appeal emphasizes that the tech giant already has all the necessary data from Google Translate and Mozilla Common Voice, so there are no technical reasons to ignore the Belarusian language. And he demanded that it be added in the next Gboard update.
