Trains in the Minsk metro have been blue from the very beginning. Since the metro opened in 1984, the carriages have not changed their main color, the metro's press service writes , and explains why this is the case.

The first trains for the Minsk metro were supplied by the Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant, known as "Metrovagonmash". This enterprise had previously produced carriages for metros throughout the Soviet Union, and they traditionally had a blue and light blue livery. Minsk received trains of the same model — 81-717/714 — in the factory's usual color.
Blue is considered calm and comfortable for perception, and therefore it was recognized as the most suitable for underground transport. But it wasn't always like this.
In the late 1970s, designers experimented with other options — yellow, green, various shades of blue. However, they ultimately settled on the classic blue and light blue, which proved to be the most versatile and pleasant for passengers.
