The American military is ready to strike Iran this Saturday, February 21. President Donald Trump was informed of this by high-ranking officials responsible for national security, writes CBS News, citing informed sources.
According to the TV channel's interlocutors, Trump has not yet made a final decision, but "dynamic and continuous" discussions on the issue are ongoing in the White House. Specifically, the risks of escalation are being weighed, as well as the "political and military consequences of restraint."
At the same time, Great Britain refused the US the use of bases for strikes against Iran.
London does not allow the US to launch airstrikes against Iran from the British base on Diego Garcia island and the airbase in Gloucestershire.

American military personnel were counting on using the base on Diego Garcia, as well as RAF Fairford base in Gloucestershire, where heavy US bombers are located.
“According to a long-standing agreement between London and Washington, the Pentagon can only launch operations from these two locations, as well as from other UK airbases where American military aircraft and personnel are stationed, with prior approval from the British government.
However, the UK has not given permission to strike Iran, as it is concerned about a possible violation of international law.
