Resident of Mazyr District received 10 years for molesting schoolgirls

According to the investigation, in July 2023, the man secretly registered a fake page on the social network "VKontakte" using his mother's phone number.

Under a fictitious male name, he corresponded with schoolgirls, pretending to be a young guy. He told the children about pornography, various forms of sexual relations, asked them to send indecent video and photo images of their bodies, and persistently offered personal meetings for intimate entertainment, including for material reward.

Two schoolgirls succumbed to curiosity and agreed to chat with the "guy" on the street in the presence of their friends. In one case, upon seeing an adult man at the meeting, the girl and her friend rushed home, and she subsequently stopped communicating with him. In the second case, the schoolgirl continued the correspondence.

45 episodes of the defendant's criminal activity, committed over a year and a half, have been established.

35 people aged 12—15 have been recognized as victims, most of whom reside in the Gomel region, with several individuals in other regions.

Among the victims is a 15 year-old boy who, for fun, communicated on the social network from a fake page, pretending to be a girl.

The accused refused to testify and did not admit guilt.

Based on the evidence collected in the case, the resident of Mazyr District was charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus:

Part 2 of Art. 169 (indecent acts committed by a person who has reached the age of eighteen, against a person known to be under the age of sixteen, against a person known to be a child);

Part 2 of Art. 343 (distribution of pornographic materials to a person known to be under the age of sixteen, committed by a person who has reached the age of eighteen);

Part 3 of Art. 343 -1 (use of a person known to be a child for the production of pornographic materials with their image, committed by a person who previously committed an offense under Art. 343 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, using the global computer network Internet);

Part 3 of Art. 172 (involving a person known to be a minor in the commission of a particularly grave crime by a person who has reached the age of eighteen, through promises, deception, or other means).

The court sentenced the resident of Mazyr District to 10 years of imprisonment, to be served in a correctional colony under strict regime conditions.
