The Norwegian national team has already won 17 gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy. Four years ago, in 2022 in Beijing, the Norwegians claimed 16 gold medals, which was also the best result in history at the time.

The 17th gold medal for Norway was secured by biathlete Johannes Dale-Skjevdal, who won the 15-kilometer mass start, finishing ahead of his compatriot Sturla Holm Lægreid and the celebrated Frenchman Quentin Fillon Maillet.
In addition to biathlon, Norwegians excelled in cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, Nordic combined, ski jumping, and speed skating. Skier Johannes Klæbo has already won five gold medals at these Olympics, bringing his total to 10 — an absolute record for the "White Olympics" (Winter Olympics).
Moreover, the Olympics are not yet over, with its closing scheduled for February 22. And for male cross-country skiers, there is still one unawarded distance remaining — 50 kilometers.
