Mikita Dranets was supposed to be released in early March after serving a six-year term, but a new court hearing took place in January, writes the Telegram channel "ABC-Belarus".

Mikita Dranets
Mikita Dranets was accused under Article 411 of the Criminal Code — for allegedly "malicious disobedience to the colony administration". As a result, the court decided to extend his sentence by another year.
Prior to this, Dranets had already spent at least four months in a cell-type facility in the Shklov colony No. 17.
Currently, 27-year-old resident of Byaroza, Mikita Dranets, was detained on March 2, 2021, as part of a criminal case against activists of the anarchist movement from the Brest region. He was charged with organizing or participating in group actions that violate public order, as well as participating in an allegedly criminal organization.
After his detention, he was transferred to Minsk and placed in pre-trial detention center No. 1. In January 2022, the case materials were transferred to the prosecutor's office — the entire case of the so-called "Revolutionary Action" consisted of a very large number of volumes.
In April 2022, the court proceedings began in the Minsk City Court, but they were made closed, citing the presence of "extremist" materials.
In September 2022, the court delivered a verdict: 6 years in a high-security penal colony and a fine. After this, in 2023, he was transferred to a colony in Vitebsk, and later, in 2025, he was moved to the Shklov colony.
In total, ten political prisoners were involved in that case — Marfa Rabkova, coordinator of Viasna's volunteer service, volunteer Andrei Chapiuk, political prisoner activists of the anarchist movement Akihira Hayeuski-Hanada, Aliaksandr Frantskevich, Aliaksei Halauko, Aliaksandr Kazlianka, Pavel Shpetny, Mikita Dranets, Andrei Marach, Danila Chul.
The accused received sentences ranging from 17 to 5 years. Of them, besides Mikita Dranets, Aliaksei Halauko (received 12 years) and Aliaksandr Frantskevich (received 17 years) continue to serve their sentences. The others have either already served their full terms and been released, or were released by pardon as a result of Aliaksandr Lukashenka's deal with the Americans and forcibly expelled abroad.
