An authentic piece of the Eiffel Tower is being sold at auction in France
In France, a part of the original Eiffel Tower staircase is planned to be put up for auction. This is a fragment that previously connected the second and third levels of the famous structure, writes The Independent.

This staircase was created back in the late 19th century, but in the 1980s it was dismantled and replaced with elevators. The structure was then divided into several parts and partly sold, while some parts ended up in museums or private collections.
Now, one such fragment, about two and a half meters high, has been put up for sale. It has been restored and returned to its original appearance after a long period of storage.
The auction organizers expect to receive tens of thousands of euros for this piece. Similar parts have been sold before, and some of them have spread across different countries worldwide. The bidding is scheduled for May 21.
This staircase was once used by visitors to ascend to the upper levels of the Eiffel Tower, therefore it is considered a valuable historical object.
