Ruginienė: A Person Has Already Even Been Appointed for Negotiations with Belarus
Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė stated that a responsible representative has already been appointed for a possible meeting with Belarusian representatives. At the same time, she emphasized that such a meeting is only possible if certain conditions from the Belarusian side are met, reports LRT.

"We could certainly hold this meeting; we have a responsible person appointed for this, but we have clearly sent a signal to both our strategic partners and the entire society that we have certain conditions. It cannot be that one side prepares while the other side does nothing," — LRT quotes Ruginienė.
Among the main requirements are stopping cross-border flights of balloons used for smuggling, the return of detained trucks without additional payments, and preventing illegal migration.
Ruginienė noted that without fulfilling these conditions, there will be no progress, and Lithuania does not see sufficient readiness for cooperation from Minsk.
Previously, U.S. Presidential representative John Cole suggested organizing a meeting without preconditions and resuming the transit of fertilizers through Lithuania. However, the Lithuanian side emphasized that the U.S. is not insisting on this issue, and therefore it is too early to discuss it.
It is also noted that political dialogue between the countries is only possible if Belarus demonstrates more benevolent actions.

І не. Аніякага дабразычліўства Літве чакаць ня варта. Тэрарысты заўсёды падманваюць, бяруць закладнікаў (у тым ліку літоўскіх грамадзян), і ў выніку ладзяць злачынства. Таму і стасавацца з імі патрэбна менавіта як з групоўкай крымінальнікаў, а не "афіцыйнай дзяржавай". Інакш наўрадці атрымаецца нешта плённае. Ды і за прыкладам далёка хадзіць ня трэба: Украіна ўжо неяк дапамагла лукашне з транзітам калію... Таму называйце рэчы сваімі імёнамі - і будзе вам шчасьце. Але, падобна, гісторыя з фурамі ды літоўцамі ў палоне так нічому і не навучылі.
