People saw the Moon's far side for the first time in half a century PHOTOS
Artemis II mission astronauts reached the Moon for the first time in half a century and saw the far side of Earth's satellite with their own eyes. They also shared a corresponding photo with humanity.

In the photo, the dark part on the right is the side of the Moon visible from Earth. Everything to the left of the giant crater is the far side of Earth's satellite, which people haven't seen since 1972.
The astronauts are preparing to break the Apollo 13 record, flying a record 400,171 kilometers from Earth.
If all goes well, within a few hours, the spacecraft's crew will be further from Earth than anyone in human history, and then they will orbit the Moon and begin their journey home.
