Pakistan has prepared a plan to stop the war between the US and Iran, which involves opening the Strait of Hormuz. Reuters claims it could come into force as early as today.
The plan prepared by Pakistan envisages a two-stage approach: an immediate ceasefire (which would allow the opening of the Strait of Hormuz) followed by a comprehensive agreement. This is allotted 15-20 days, writes Reuters.com
The final agreement is expected to include Iran's commitment not to develop nuclear weapons in exchange for sanctions relief and the unblocking of frozen assets, the source said.
According to her, Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir maintained contacts throughout the evening with US Vice President J.D. Vance, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
“All elements must be agreed upon today,” the Reuters interlocutor said.
However, according to two Pakistani sources, Iran has not yet agreed to the plan, despite intensified diplomatic and military contacts.
Yesterday, Donald Trump announced hell in Iran as early as tomorrow, Tuesday, if Iran does not yield the strait.
“On Tuesday, Iran will have 'Power Plant Day' and 'Bridge Day' – all rolled into one. Nothing like it has ever happened!!! Open that damn strait, you crazy bastards,” or you will live in Hell – just watch! Praise be to Allah!” he wrote yesterday.
Before the start of the war between the US and Israel with Iran (February 28), about a fifth of global oil supplies passed through the Strait of Hormuz. With the start of the war, Iran effectively closed passage through the strait. In late March, Iran stated that "hostile" countries would continue to be prohibited from using the strait.
