During the event, interaction between all services and departments that should act in such a situation was practiced. The goal was to check readiness to quickly detect a threat, isolate the patient, and prevent the spread of infection.
During the drills, thermal imaging control of passengers, visual inspection, and collection of primary information were practiced. After a conditionally sick person was identified, medics examined them, interviewed them, provided assistance, and made a preliminary diagnosis of "cholera." An ambulance was also called.
Simultaneously, all involved structures received notification of the incident: medics, airport administration, border guards, customs, police, and the airline.
Employees involved in eliminating the situation wore anti-epidemic protective suits. The unloading of luggage belonging to contact passengers, its placement in a special box, and disinfection were practiced separately.
Passengers of the flight who had contact with the potentially sick person were gathered, interviewed, filled out questionnaires, and sent to an isolation room for observation. The passenger suspected of cholera was temporarily placed in the isolation room of the sanitary-quarantine point, where they received assistance.
Disinfection measures were also carried out in all premises and transport used during the scenario.
The drills involved specialists from the Minsk City Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology, the civil aviation medical service, airport employees, representatives of Belavia, the border service, customs, and the police.
