Belarusian on Fedorov's resignation: Belief in the infallible technocrat is ineradicable
«There is a perception that business practices from a sphere that became successful largely due to a favorable international conjuncture and the will of God, can be calmly and easily copied and scaled to public administration, defense, and the political sphere. Digitize for the sake of digitization,» — writes on his Facebook, business analyst Maksim Makhankou.

The conflict in Ukraine around the position of Minister of Defense, the personal conflict between Fedorov and Syrskyi, as well as the reaction of Ukrainian society to this conflict, highlighted an interesting phenomenon.
Let me say right away, I will not criticize Fedorov, nor Syrskyi, nor any other Ukrainian military or civilian involved in defense, who together defend Ukraine from the Ruscist scourge — praise and respect to each of them.
However, it is worth saying something about the protests. I am absolutely sure that most people came out to protest not for Fedorov as such. Moreover, I am absolutely sure that most protesters, in principle, have a weak understanding of how to assess the effectiveness of a Minister of Defense's work during wartime. No offense, Kyiv hipsters from third-wave coffee shops, IT specialists, and the intellectual-creative bubble.
Most people (except for the military, who have specific grievances against Syrskyi) support Fedorov, because in post-Soviet Eastern Europe, there still lives an infantile idea of a ministerial position as one that should be purely bureaucratic-technocratic. The political component is often simply ignored (or simply bracketed), while incidentally it remains key.
There is a strong and ineradicable belief in the infallible technocrat (which, in Fedorov's case, is multiplied by the inflated ego of the Eastern European IT bubble, which considers itself the center of the universe). There is a perception that business practices from a sphere that became successful largely due to a favorable international conjuncture and the will of God, can be calmly and easily copied and scaled to public administration, defense, and the political sphere. Digitize for the sake of digitization.
Few people understand that this doesn't work that way, and that even in a warring country, the Minister of Defense is a political position. And if you lose the internal power struggle — you leave the position. And no statistics on the number of developed drones and other technical-bureaucratic details can negate this.
Strength and victory to the Ukrainian army and political leadership.
